I view research mentorship as an extension of my teaching and an opportunity to help students develop the skills, confidence, and independence to pursue their own questions. I provide structured training and support early on, then progressively increase students’ responsibility as they gain experience, from contributing to ongoing projects to developing independent research and mentoring others.
